I have been using Windows PCs since 2008 and actually ruined my first laptop because I fell prey to a free anti-virus download that was, in fact, a virus. Please, I'd like to have as many opinions as I can receive. Do the same sentiments still stand re: Norton on Macs (i.e., do not download it)? I read a 2015 forum in which a user stated that Norton Symantec recently upgraded their system so that their software is not a "resource hog" and that it will be easier to uninstall its programs. I have yet to see a 2016 forum about the risks and benefits of downloading Norton on a Mac. I've read multiple forums re: Norton anti-virus softwarre on Macs, but many of these forums were from 2008 to 2013.
